Nike Global Challenge Day 2

Day 2 was very good as the USA teams played against each other and was a good gauge of where the Kentucky targets are at in their development. Here we go: MILES BRIDGES(6'7" HUNTINGTON PREP,WV/FLINT,MI)- He took awhile to get going, so did his team as they fell behind 20-0 in 1st quarter but he scored a layup that got him going. He had some nice dunks, slashing to the basket, did hit a three pointer in the one game he played on the day. He had 19 points and 12 rebounds and scored in a variety of ways, even a couple of strong post up baskets. As I have said he does need to improve that three point jump shot and not be so loose with the ball. That being said I hope he comes to Kentucky as Coach Cal will help with his weaknesses. GARY TRENT JR(APPLE VALLEY,MN)- He received an offer from Kentucky today, as for the game he showed more dribbling and slashing ability in this particular game while also hitting three 3 point shots. He was aggressive on both ends maybe too aggressive on defense(he fouled out), but a lot more aggressive with his total all around game. MALIK MONK(6'4" BENTONVILLE,ARK)- He was impressive in both of his games today, hitting three pointers, dropping dimes like a point guard, and slashing to the basket. He totally dominated parts of the second game he played today. He is definitely the best player of all the players here and an elite prospect. It will be either Kentucky or Arkansas and whomever gets him will be getting a great basketball player and great athlete. DJ HARVEY(6"6" DEMATHA CATHOLIC, BOWIE,MD)- He played like the wing player that he is hit two 3 pointers and scored a couple of buckets inside, needs to get stronger and more aggressive with his offense. Also needs to score more slashing to the basket and play more aggressive in general. NICK RICHARDS(6'11" THE PATRICK SCHOOL,NJ)-Showed some good post moves and hit the boards very well. He did what a big man is supposed to do in the post, ran the floor very well. Needs to defend the post better. JARED VANDERBILT (6'8"VICTORY PREP, HOUSTON,TX)- Same as yesterday strictly a slasher, doesn't shoot anything outside of 15 feet, also seems like he does not want to shoot a three point shot. He has to get stronger if he wants to constantly slash to the basket. He's definitely a wing player who hits the boards well. TROY BROWN JR 6'6" LAS VEGAS, NV)- A little more aggressive today with his offense but still needs to step it up on both ends of the floor. It's almost like you don't know he's out there at times. I can see the potential but he needs to be more aggressive on the court period. THAT'S IT FOLKS IT'S BEEN SOME GOOD BASKETBALL WATCH THE TITLE GAME ON www.nikeeyb.com. GOD BLESS AND PEACE TO THE CREATURES!!!!!!!

Nike Global Challenge Day 1

I was at the Nike Global Challenge yesterday to look at Kentucky targets, and I saw more than a few of them. These are Class of 2016 players unless otherwise identified. Here's my report on yesterday's play for Kentucky targets: UDOKA AZIBUIKE (6'10" POTTERS CHRISTIAN, JACKSONVILLE, FL)- He was on Pan Africa's roster but was a no show. MILES BRIDGES(6'7" HUNTINGTON PREP, W VA/FLINT,MICHIGAN)-Kenny Payne was in the house as was Michigan State with Tom Izzo and 2 other assistants watching him. HE did a little bit of everything yesterday, looked for teammates, slashed to the basket, rebounded, and had a lot of dunks(a windmill reverse dunk off a alley pop the most impressive). He was 0 for 4 from three point range in the 2 games yesterday. Also has to work on his free throw shooting(1 for 6 in 2 games). Smooth lefty stroke as he hit shots from all other ranges on the floor. Needs to work on his decision making. GARY TRENT JR(6'5" APPLE VALLEY,MN)- Class of 2017 player.Typical two guard who is a long range sniper(three 3 pointers in 1st game), good athlete. He needs to work on his ball handling and passing, didn't do much in the 2nd game which was a blowout. MALIK MONK(6'4" BENTONVILLE,ARK)- Played one game yesterday, very explosive(4 dunks one from the dotted line tomahawk dunk), can shoot the ball with range but is loose with the ball at times which leads to turnovers. He is also a very good passer and convinced me yesterday he can play a lot of point as well as his customary two guard position. Very impressed. DJ HARVEY (6'6" DEMATHA CATHOLIC/ BOWIE,MD)- Good athletic two guard who can shoot from there point range and in, good passer, rebounds well for his position and fundamentally sound. Talked to him and his family yesterday and seem like good people. He would be a good representative of Kentucky or any school he goes to. NICK RICHARDS (6'11 THE PATRICK SCHOOL, NJ)- Class of 2017 player is a post player has some good turn and shoot post moves inside, he will have to get better with his fundamentals in the low post but good athlete. JARED VANDERBILT(6'8" VICTORY PREP, HOUSTON,TX)- Class of 2017 player typical small forward skills, lefty shooter that slashes to the basket, no shots outside of 15 feet yesterday, crashes the boards, didn't show breakdown skills off the dribble for more than 2 dribbles. TROY BROWN JR(6'6" LAS VEGAS,NV)- Class of 2017 he did not impress me yesterday especially from the National hype he has been receiving. Played a lot off the ball and was not aggressive offensively. Long athlete and used his length on defense but did not do much on the offensive end. MARQUES BOLDEN(6'10" DESOTO,TX)- He didn't do much at all yesterday, I barely noticed him or his game at all. I will watch today to see if he's more aggressive out on the floor. THAT'S IT FOLKS...I WILL BE OUT THERE FOR DAY 2 TO SEE IF I SEE ANYTHING DIFFERENT. GOD BLESS AND PEACE TO THE CREATURES!!!!!!
