Integration: Good or bad for Blacks?????????

Yes I am doing two blogs today since I am going on vacation for 10 days. I have talked to alot of people who were living during the time of Jim Crow and the fight for integration. Surprisingly to most of you they say integration has been a bad thing for blacks. Why would they say that you ask? Don't we have a black President? Don't we have more jobs and more people with nice houses and such? Yes and yes to both questions. But they as I think it has done alot of harm only because integration did not happen as it should. MLK,Fred Hampton,MalcolmX, my Mom, my Dad, my Aunts all fought for a better life for us. And some things like seperate fountains, seperate schools and such do not exist anymore. But the problem with integration has been the loss of black business ownership. Back in the 40's,50's and 60's yes it was segregated but blacks shopped at black owned businesses. The money we spent stayed in our own communities. Store fronts, liquor stores, department stores, etc were black owned businesses. Now? You look at the corner stores in the black neighborhoods and who owns them? Immigrants? Why? Because when a black person tried to own a business now they get bombarded with high property taxes, high taxes on the goods that they sale, taxed, raxed, taxedon everything. When an immigrant puts in a bid for the business he gets tax breaks on those things that a black owner would get taxed on. Blacks are 2% producer 98% consumer, back before integration we produced alot more and the money circulation stayed in the black community. You still have unequal schools (check out the innercity schools and see what funding they get from the state), no textbooks, computers, etc, in the innercity schools which are predominately black. Tell you a story: my nephew went to Marshall High School in Chicago, he came home one day and I asked: Where are your books don't you have homework? He said they never had homework because not enough textbooks for every student to take home with them. They had to share the textbooks and leave them at school. Also the textbooks had pages missing and stuff written in them. School didn't have the money to order new textbooks every year. But it seems that the suburban schools have plenty of money for new textbooks every year. Also how many billionaire black people do you know? Or do you know many black CEO's? I will say after talking to the folks with experience that integration has been a bad thing only because it didn't happen like Dr King wanted it to be. So that's my rant for today. Take care everyone. Will be back in a couple of weeks. God Bless and Peace to the Creatures.
