Will Kentucky FINALLY Get A Player From Huntington Prep(WV)???????
It's just a tad frustrating when you think you are so close to something and it slips away. Afterwards you sit there and think: I didn't really have it in the first place. This is how I feel about Huntington Prep Basketball players coming to Kentucky. I thought for a log time we had Andrew Wiggins locked and delivered to Kentucky. Then one player would commit to Kentucky, then another, then another, then......well you get the picture. It made it to the point that there was too many chefs in the kitchen for Andrew Wiggins to come to Kentucky, he ultimately went to Kansas. Than his Canadian countryman Montague Gill-Caesar, another one I thought was locked and delivered to Kentucky. Then the weirdest thing happened? Montague Gill-Caesar RECLASSIFIES in August and signs with Missouri(he has since transferred). Now we have Miles Bridges (6'7" 220 pound forward), he can jump out of the gym, a decent outside shooter, can handle the ball and slash to the basket, very explosive athlete. He is considering about five schools but to me it's really down to Michigan State and Kentucky. If he goes to Michigan State he can play the 4(power forward) position and thrive as a college player, Sparty is selling him on being another Draymond Green, I for one think that small ball stuff is a fad in basketball and will go away quickly. Kentucky can sell him on playing the 3(small forward) position and maybe some 2(shooting guard). He can be an interchangeable athlete in Kentucky's system. Now to me the difference is Tom Izzo does not get one and dones, he tried to get Jabari Parker but as you know was not successful. Michigan State just does not have players that get to the NBA quick, it takes them awhile and there is nothing wrong with that. The thing is Miles Bridges has the ability to be a one and done player, and to me there is not better system in college basketball than Kentucky for this kind of thing(proof is in the pudding I don't have to name the countless players that have been successful). So in conclusion if he wants to get the NBA quickly then he needs to go to Kentucky, if he wants to be patient with it and take his time go to Michigan State(though Kentucky could do the same for him). I have a feeling we FINALLY get a kid from Huntington Prep. Makes sense for Kentucky since Huntington Prep is so close to the campus(though we have not made a dent yet). As it is I think we will know by the early signing period if this jinx will be lifted with the Huntington Prep to Lexington pipeline. There you have it, take care folks. God Bless and Peace to the Creatures.
